FIRE PERMITS

Depending on the zone you live in, you will either require a permit all year round (if you live in an area managed by Fire and Rescue NSW) or require a permit during the Bushfire Danger Period or where a fire is likely to be dangerous to a building if in an RFS zone.

To access the online interactive Backyard Burning Map App to see which zone you live in and view the full list of conditions, fact sheets and learn how to apply for a Fire Permit, visit the Wingecarribee Shire Councils online map.

The fire season usually commences on 1st October each year through to 31st March (although that may change due to weather and hazard conditions).  In 2019 the fire season commenced on 1st September.

You may contact the Captain or Senior Deputy Captain to discuss your pile burn.  Click here for more information.

You are now able to notify the RFS of your planned burn by using this link Burn notification.  You should also let your neighbours know at least one day ahead.
